I'm not very techie

There was an update to my system

Now with Windows Explorer 11 I no longer get the left side of the verizon email screen

I just had an issue very similar to what you described with the email.  Follow Jose's link for instructions on how to run the site in "compatability mode" and that should resolve the problem.

More detailed steps to fix the missing left pane issue with Verizon emails on Internet Explorer 11

1. Click Tools. If you can't see this, press F10 on the keyboard.

2. Then, select Compatibility View settings.

3. In the Compatibility View Settings window, add verizon.com to the Add this website field and click Add.  Then click close.
