I just received a blank text message from "ME"? How is this possible?
Awesome question. I've done this before. If you send a message to yourself it will show up in your history.

I actually didn't send anything to myself, though, until after I received
the mystery message. I'm attaching a pic to show what I mean. My messages
show what I sent and what I received. In this case it doesn't show that I
actually sent anything the first time

I received the message Tuesday (3/28) around 2:37 PM Pacific time. I have the HTC One M9.
Getting a blank message from yourself can be a concern. Let's review this more. Has there been any recent updates on your device?

Can you be more specific? My apps update regularly, but I am not aware of any software updates recently.
We want to make sure you are able to use your phone normally. Has there been any recent updates on your device like your system software or applications? Please check to make sure everything is up to date? JasperM_VZW

Oh gosh, receiving a text from yourself is quite the mystery! Don’t worry, I will make sure we get to the bottom of this. I appreciate you taking these steps to troubleshoot with us. I’m glad to hear everything is updated. What message app are you using? (The Verizon Messages+ or the default text app that came with the phone?) Have you recently subscribed or entered anything from any sort of app or game where you gave your phone number?

I use Verizon Message +, and haven't signed up for anything recently where I provided my phone number.

This is the first time I have received a message from myself, no others yet. This is the same phone I got when I switched to Verizon from Sprint, kept the same phone number. I haven't done any factory resets.
This is definitely quite a mystery. I’m happy that this has only happened once Let’s dig a bit further please. Around the time that this happened, do you recall downloading any new apps or games to your phone? When you look at the “from” in the message details, does it show your full phone number starting with the area code? If not, please describe what the “from” details show. (Please do not put your phone number on this post, as we want to protect your security.)
I feel like I have already been asked about recent apps and games, but no I have not recently downloaded any new apps or games around the time of the message. My phone is up to date with all software. No recent download of that. The phone number shows my full number.

You've created this forum to help users solve problems. This thread was taken off line and the resolution this user's problem was never published. What is the point of this forum if you don't provide solutions. I'm having the same problem as this user - having received two blank texts from myself with no action on my behalf nor history of my sending myself those texts. Can you please advise what is happening with your network please?
Sorry to see you are also having issues with the blank messages. This is a community forum for our customers to communicate with each other. There are times when Verizon representatives will also jump in if there are concerns that require our attention.
When did you receive the two messages from your number? Was it the same day?
Are you also using Verizon Messages/ Message + on your HTC Once M9? If so, please clear the cache for the Verizon Messages/Message + application

Has this happened again to you? It happens quite often to me and I have yet to find out why. If my phone is sending & receiving blank texts to itself, what else is it doing without my consent? Creepy!
It's important that all of your text messages work properly. We're not showing there is a known issue with blank text messages. Which text message application are you using? How often does this occur?

Same problem. Blank text from "me", phone number is my full number. Happened today 1/22/2018 at 9:02pm. Everything on phone (Lg V30) has worked just fine since I got it in October. No recently installed apps, no recent or pending updates. I also use message +, havent signed up for any apps that ask for phone number. This is the first time it happened, havent factory reset my phone ever. No recent downloads of apps. Can you determine where this message originated? Should I be worried that others in my contact list are receiving blank texts from me?

This has happened 4 separate times on my moto z droid. It has been happening since May, it's now July. I just need to know if it is a glitch in the app, or if someone is trying to send me a message and I'm not getting it because the app is messing up and not getting it to me. Being that this thread was started almost a year ago, I was hoping to find an answer.
Messaging concerns are not what we want for you. Allow us to troubleshoot. To clarify, what messaging app are you using (default, Message+, etc...)? What changes (uploads, downloads, etc...) have you made to your device prior to this issue?

Did anyone get an answer about this? This happened to me twice. I got a text message from "Me." The one time I wasn't even touching my phone and I got a text from myself. The other time I was just scrolling through my news feed on fb. Both messages said nothing.
We completely understand how concerning it can be to receive messages from yourself. When exactly did this first start happening? What messaging app are you using?

I have also had this issue, multiple times now I have received a blank message from "me" when I have not messaged myself at all.
This actually happens to me on a daily basis and I cannot figure out why. I own a Galaxy S8. This started happening to me after the most recent software update. I've cleared the cache and it never helped.
