I am shocked that a company as large as Verizon is able to charge for service they do not provide, spend millions on advertising instead of investing in infrastructure to provide more towers and stronger signals, and try to sell customers signal boosters at inflated prices when the service they are already being paid to provide is not available.
I am a longtime customer that received relatively reliable cell signals at my home prior to 2020. Since then, I can barely get 3G signals, have to go outside to place or received some calls, and get no 5G service as I should at all. When I complained, I was told that there is so much traffic in my area (presumably from adding on new customers) that the towers cannot handle the load and my signal drops.
I was told I needed to get a signal booster, so I bought a signal booster on Amazon. When I tried to register it, Verizon said it could not register it without a MAC ID, and all I have is an FCC ID. Verizon said I had to buy another one from them for $250! They wrote up a "trouble ticket" to check my signal, but I have heard nothing back in over a week.
1) I think Verizon should provide me with a signal booster for free since they are not generating a strong enough signal due to taking on too many customers and not adding towers and better equipment;
2) there is no excuse for having inoperable links to how to register a signal booster if they have to be registered with Verizon in order to work;
3) even when the issue is repeatedly brought to Verizon's attention, instead of fixing the problem or publicizing the solution, they tell a complaining customer that they will send them a personal note to help THAT customer register, and leave all the other people having the same problem without a solution. This has gone on for months and months;
4) I wonder if the FCC knows that Verizon will not register a signal booster with an FCC ID, and that Verizon is getting away with charging for 5G service signals without providing the service they are being paid to provide.

Update I called Verizon , after spending about an hour and a half they sent me a link
https://www.verizon.com/solutions-and-services/accessories/register-signal-booster
which we know still is not working . I had the tech on the phone follow the links… yup you guessed it he got the blank page 404 error. His manager on the floor had him tell me that it was down for maintenance and that the issue is being escalated. They then scheduled me for a call back on 1/3/2024 around 4 pm cst. I will update more after that

I also recently bought a 3rd party signal booster and want to register it but clicking the "my verizon" button on this page https://www.verizonwireless.com/content/wcms/overlays/register-signal-booster.html leads to a blank page.
Hoping someone can help.
