Deactivating Travel Pass

How do I avoid inadvertent use of Travel Pass on my iPhone. I don't have the Verizon app. I had the phone in airplane mode and have been charged for 2 Travel Passes, without knowing I activated Travel Pass. What settings on my iPhone do I need to turn off be sure Travel Pass is not activated? Thank you.

We want to help with this concern. Airplane mode should have prevented any charges. DID you make any calls while in Airplane mode? ~Peter

If you turned on Wi-Fi at any time while outside the US, that's data usage and the foreign ISP will pass through the charges to Verizon, which would be my guess as to how you got charged for 2 days of Travel Pass.
