International call to country at war - Ukraine

I am a 13 plus years customer of Verizon Wireless. I was responding to phone call from Ukraine, the country at war. The phone call originated after severe bombing was registered there, and the big explosion happened in Kharkov on July 26, 2024. I used to call to Ukraine using applications; however, the call was the re-dial call. As a result, the call was registered as mobile international call. Consequently, I was charged $134 for international call.

I called Verizon Wireless customer service and asked for the first time to waive this one-time charge. I never complained about international calls to Ukraine in the past and always paid my charges on time. Verizon Wireless refused to help me with that one-time request. After the two hours conversation with two different Verizon representatives and another 30 minutes call with Mr. Antony, the ethics complaint representative, I was devastated: no one help me and more over all representatives made it more and more difficult.

I think the big company as Verizon Wireless should care for their devoted customers and help to resolve one-time issues such as described above. The all representatives had never helped, never being compassionate to the people who are struggling in the war zone.
