I'm traveling in Europe soon. I signed up for the $10/ day plan but would like to change to the $100 for one month plan. How do I change it? Thx
Hi, if you're postpaid, I thought Travel Pass was already included in your service...unless you manually disabled it somehow in your account? Otherwise, when you're outside of the US and use your phone, you'll get a Travel Pass notification saying it turned on.
To sign up for the $100 one month International Service Plan, see here:
https://www.verizon.com/plans/international/international-travel/monthly-plan/
Important:
1) If you're prepaid, you can't sign up for the month plan. Travel Pass is the only international option prepaid customers can get, and you have to make sure you pay in advance for the days you plan to use it by loading the funds into your account before you leave.
2) Be careful when you sign up for the month plan, because it's very easy to subscribe to a monthly recurring subscription instead of getting just one month's service. If it were me, upon returning home, I'd check my perks in my account and if you've been subscribed to the international service plan for whatever reason, cancel it or you'll be billed an extra $100 every month!
3) If you're not currently under a contract (you're using a BYOD and just paying for a postpaid plan), a less expensive alternative is to upgrade your service plan to Unlimited Ultimate, which has built-in Travel Pass service. Then you can downgrade your plan back when you return to the US, so long as it's not an old plan which is no longer offered to new customers. A CS rep posted elsewhere if you're on an older plan you can go back to it within 30 days, but I'd be scared to try it, especially if your plan is very old. Don't try this if you ARE under a contract (device deal, special discounted rate pricing, trade-in to upgrade, or what have you) because it will break your contract and subject you to whatever penalties there are for bailing out of a contract early.
Hope that helps.
