Our family traveled to BVI two weeks ago. I told my kids to turn off their phones and only use wifi. Because my daughter had cellular data off, she was not given the option to turn on Travel Pass. She then made a week’s worth of calls to friends and family on WiFi thinking it was free. Nope! Verizon charged us $1.70 per minute and close to $800!
My wife and I had travel pass on the whole time. Verizon knows we were all together as a family. But instead of just charging us $10 for the travel pass on the days my daughter made calls, they are billing us $800 in “international” charges and fees. This is predatory billing.
Unless it’s resolved, I’m dropping Verizon. I’ve been a customer for 15 years. Sad this is how they make money on loyal customers!
