Travel Pass not working in Chile

TravelPass worked at the airport and then stopped working on Santiago Chile. If it turn the phone off and back on, it’ll work for a short period. Service is highly unreliable and concerning if there are any immediate issues. Why have a travelpass that just simply doesn’t work as it is intended to?

I have turned on roaming, auto selection of carrier, and reset the phone. It’s quite disappointing and I’m going to buy a sim to have reliable service rather than waste my travelpass on something that doesn’t work.

Hi Amber, it did not work the rest of the day. It showed 4 bars and connected to Movistar (which is one of the main service carriers in Santiago) but had no connection at all for messaging, Internet, or calls. I reseted the phone several times, tried turning the cellular service off and on, and made sure roaming was on. The strange thing was that I received this text from Verizon for two days:

Verizon Msg: We hope you're enjoying TravelPass. Your 24-hour session will end at 2022-11-21 05:40:14 EST and you'll then have 7 day(s) left in your TravelPass bank.

But still no service

I gave up trying and ended up getting a SIM card with prepaid service.

After messaging a representative, I was able to reconnect to the Verizon international service... however, the service cut out again. In fact, I had to restart my phone/turn my cellular service on and off at least 10 times in 2 hours to get service that was intermittent and highly unreliable. I finally went back to using the local sim card. The international service was so unreliable that I felt uncomfortable not having service when I needed it, and not realizing that I do not have service until that moment.

I am now back in the states and no longer need a resolution to this issue, however Verizon needs to seriously address this problem with its international plan and service. The unreliability of the service is not only uncomfortable, but can be a safety issue not having any connection in an emergency. For now, I recommend against using Verizon international service in Chile until the issue is resolved.

Im having the same issue. Verizon seems unable to help and honestly doesn’t seem to care. I get charged for travel pass each day because it works for maybe an hour and they think that is ok and out of their control.
