Troubleshooting RCS messaging services

RCS works through Wi-Fi or mobile data so there are a few key things to check when troubleshooting RCS messaging services.

The following general troubleshooting tips can help resolve RCS issues on Android or iOS devices:

  • Make sure that mobile data is working properly on the device. A data connection is required for RCS.
  • Check that RCS is enabled in the messaging app. If already enabled, toggle it off and back on.
  • Confirm that the file size does not exceed 100 MB (this is the maximum file size for sending/receiving).
  • Check that you are in a good coverage area and have a good signal.
  • If connected to Wi-Fi, double-check your firewall settings (especially when using corporate, business or international Wi-Fi).
