LG v60 Dropping Calls and Muting

Hey all, I just want to see if anyone out there is experiencing this with their LG v60. Mine keeps dropping calls or making me mute (not activating the mute button, but people cant hear me) during a call. Ive tried using it on amd off wifi, and its happening with me talking to different people.

Hello, being on top of your LG V60 is vital, especially if its dropping calls and muting conversations. When did the issue start? What recent changes have you made? Aside from the calls and audio, any other problems?

It's been a problem since I've gotten the phone. The only changes I've made were toggling the wifi calling. There are no other problems with the phone, but this is a pretty big annoyance.

When I got the phone, I did transfer my data from the old device Moto Z-3 (I think), but that's all I've done with it.

I did find something out. This happens when I'm talking to people on T-Mobile. Just like the otyer person said, if I use my Bluetooth headset, I have no problems.

I see, so only when you call a T-Mobile customer? Does it happen even when they call you? What about if you test it out on speaker instead of the Bluetooth headset?

Yes, it drops even when they call me. Other forms (bluetooth in the car, bluetooth headsets, the handset itself) do a lot better for the most part. If there has been a dropped call on either of these, I can't recall it.

I restarted my phone in Safe Mode, and the problem did not happen at all. Everything worked great, so it must mean there is an app that's causing the problem. I'm in the process of trying to figure out which app. Any suggestions on how best to proceed from here? It would be...annoying to have to uninstall and reinstall each app. Should I be able to assume any apps that were migrated over from my old phone should not cause the problem if it wasn't happening then?

It’s pathetic that a phone this new has that kind of issue I’m trying to exchange mine but customer service must not know what the heck there talking about

What's really crazy, is I'm having this issue and this is an old post with no resolve.

Customer service needs to get this figured out because it's happening to a lot of people. Either stop offering the phone and give us an upgrade, or figure it out.

What's also shocking is that they are so extremely slow to reply.

Something that did help me with this (and like you said it would only happen on speakerphone), was to reset my network and custom settings. To do this:

1. Go to Settings

2. System

3. Restart & reset

4. Network settings reset

5. Once that finishes, click on Reset settings

It still happens every now and then, but it isn't a guaranteed event on every call now.

None of the previous posts in here worked, so I'll tell you what I did.

I had just switched from T-mobile, and the data transfer, transferred T-Mobile apps. All of them. I uninstalled all of those, updated all apps, then uninstalled a bunch of things I didn't end up using like Dead By Daylight Mobile, and a few other apps. I pretty much cleared out all the things I don't generally use.

One of those apps, likely the other carrier's apps, must have been causing the problem, because it's stopped completely since then.

I also suggest a the network reset and making sure everything else, especially google services, to be updated - however mine was and the network reset did nothing and really wouldn't anyways.

Im having the same issue. They replaced my first phone and now my second one is doing it. It is EXTREMELY frustrating. I hate this phone and should have went with my gut to buy the Samsung S10 instead. A Verizon employee told me LG pays them better commissions than Samsungs so it makes sense that the salesman sold me this garbage rather than the more expensive S10. Verizon wont let me switch phones, and its too late to return it. I spent $900 in cash and another $200 on an insurance claim to replace it. Furious is an understatement. Do NOT let the dual case fool you into buying this phone. Mine broke and they cant replace it so I dont even have that anymore. Buy the S10!!! Trust me

I know that I also wouldn't be happy if this was happening with my new phone, Jpisco20. Especially if this issue was still occurring after a warranty replacement. It's certainly not our intention to have our customers feeling buyers remorse. You mentioned that you're having the same trouble. When this happens does the call disconnect, or does the audio just stop working? What happens if you check for a software update? The reason that I ask is that LG has stated that this issue was addressed in a recent software update that became available on 7/01. JosephE_VZW

Hi there. So, I have an LG V30+. I just finished paying off the 24-month installments and own the phone free and clear.

However, for the last month-and-a-half, it has been dropping calls in the middle of calls (business calls too) at least twice a day. Also, all of a sudden in the middle of a phone call, nobody can hear me; I'm muted. It doesn't matter if I'm on speaker, on a wired headset, or a Bluetooth headset. Doesn't matter if I switch between speaker, the handset, or headphones. Once I've been ghost-muted (term seems fitting), I have to disconnect and reconnect the call for anybody to be able to hear me.

I wonder if instead of just a V60 issue (or just a V30+ issue), this is an issue with the way any LG-Vx0 connects and communicates with the Verizon network. I would imagine all Vx0's use the same network protocols; maybe therein lies the issue. Perhaps a change was made on either the LG side or the Verizon side that has caused specifically the LG-Vx0 series phones to have issues with dropped calls and ghost-muting.

I've done some research and it does look like there are a lot of people with LG v30s who had one issue or the other. This thread is the only place I have found another person who is having both dropped calls and muting issues, both happening in the middle of a calls.

Where I live, Verizon is the local service provider and therefore has the best coverage so I don't want to change providers. I don't want to buy a new phone in case it's a system-wide issue for Verizon and not limited to LG's.

It is the conference calling button. There is no way to disable the feature or to move it . I have talked to verizon as well as LG. Until LG does an upgrade, it easy to accidentally hit the function while speaking on the headset with your ear and you get muted. It is very annoying because it gets constantly hit with the ear because of the location. By the time I realize it, I have to log back into the main screen and the other person has hung up. Other than that the LGv60 is a good phone. Verizon has to have more people moan about this before LG gives a fix.

Also I have tried to reset the network as well as reset the phone. It is automatically disables in safe mode, but that is not feasible to leave the phone on safe mode all the time.

I am experiencing the same thing and being told there's nothing anybody can do. This is unacceptable! I'm sure we represent a small number of people with the same issue as most will not take the time to write about it in this forum.
