I've had LTE home internet for a couple of years and it's worked surprisingly well (Netflix while Zoom video conferencing, YouTube, etc no problem). During those couple of years, there's been a couple of times where the modem claims it has service and is online but there's actually no connection and the internet is not working. I have to manually unlpug/replug the device in this case because there geniuses-that-be give no way to restart the modem from the web UI. Anyway, not a big deal since it was a rare occasion.
Then at some point last year, service was completely down for both home internet and cell phone. Maybe just for the morning or half a day. After service came back up, I then noticed that 5G was available on my phone. OK, so they clearly did some upgrade to the tower. Ever since then, the home LTE has been very unreliable in terms of speed and the service has been degrading over the following months. Now the last couple of months it's gotten really bad and this week, the internet is going down multiple times a day and actually hindering my ability to GSD for work.
I have absolutely no patience for calling Verizon to have them ask me to restart the modem, check the firmware, move it to a different window, etc.
Is there any advice to try to debug this or try to give some technical information to a real technical person at Verizon that might have a clue as to what might help?
