Ellipsis Is Useless

I got this tablet for my elderly mother for the absolute basics - email, eBooks, a little web surfing.  I think we can all agree that the extremely limited memory for app use makes this tablet basically unusable.  Verizon has sold a useless piece of hardware.  Will Verizon let me upgrade to a different tablet to continue this contract?  Otherwise I am stuck paying on a 2-year contract for a device that doesn't work.  Will Verizon stand behind their products and let me upgrade to a useable tablet?

One option would be to purchase the Nexus 7 LTE tablet from the Play Store and move the SIM card from the Ellipsis tablet to the Nexus. Then you would have a decent tablet to finish out the contract term.

I'm having the same issue with this device. While I didn't pay a dime for it as it was a free Black Friday deal. I am paying the 10 dollars a month to store 11 apps. I don't want this device for music or movies. I use it for reading and apps. I wish i would have done a little more homework at the time I got it, but it was fairly new and not a lot of helpful reviews at the time. I would have went and purchased a Samsung Galaxy Tab if I knew how bad this device was. Verizon needs to put out an update and remove all of their USELESS bloatware and apps to use ALL of the device storage and not a small portion. This thing is a joke.

And Ann154 please stop spamming your love of the Nexus 7 on all Ellipsis messages. It's quite annoying and not helpful one bit. I'm not sure how you have a community leader tag.

Your Ellipsis 7 should be a great device for reading and apps brwebster614! What specific difficulties are you having with it? I'm sorry if you feel it isn't meeting your needs. We offer a 14 day trial period for purchases. I wish we could have identified the shortcomings within that time frame.

There's only one difficulty. It doesn't hold any apps. Don't you guys read this forum complaints? It's an 8gb device that allocated less than 1gb of that 8 gb to App Storage. Of that 1gb to App Storage I get to use less than half of it because of verizon's crap they install on it that can't be deleted. I have no use for VZ Messages, Youtube, Amazon Kindle, iHeartRadio, Flipboard,  RedBox, VZ Navigator,  and a boatload of of bloatware you have installed on my tablet.

I would have loved to bring it back but we got them for eachother as christmas gifts and therefor didn't open them until the end of Decemeber. This thing is useless and for the most part acts as a paperweight. I have a total of 11 apps downloaded for myself. Most of those apps are less than 10mb. It's amazing that I can't use the EIGHT GIGS OF SPACE ON THE TABLET to store apps.

That's the difficulty.

You stated "It's amazing that I can't use the EIGHT GIGS OF SPACE ON THE TABLET to store apps"

There is no cell phone or tablet ON THIS PLANET that you can use the ENTIRE internal memory to store apps. In addition, there is no computer that can use the ENTIRE harddrive space to store game, videos etc.

The tablet is virtually useless because of the miniscule internal storage. With that said, it is the buyers fault for not doing research. That would be like buying a car and 2 months later complaining about the lack of cup holders.

Yes, obviously you can't use the entire 8gigs. My point was it's ludicrous that you can only use less than 1gig for app storage when it is deemed an 8gig device. You would think more than 1 gig would be available.

I understand the blame is on me, but there needs to be a solution for this as they have been talking about.

When I got the device I read nothing but good things about it. I only got it because it was free.

There are plenty of other issues the device has that are supposed to be fixed in an update that have not been fixed.

I want to return my Ellipsis as well as the useless keyboard and also my phone.  It's under 14 days.  Will I still be able to return it?  As a longtime customer, we have had it with Verizon.

You can return it within the 14 day return policy period as long as you are willing to pay the restocking fee.

What is fantastic is I went to another Verizon store and returned the tablet and keyboard and they waived the restocking fees (it was still within 14 days) and cancelled the line.  I was very happy with Zac and Ben for helping me.

It would not sync with the Zagg keyboard for one, and it wouldn't find ANY wireless network, and there is no 4G.  I'm left with an ugly outdated paperweight with an old version of Android.  My Nook is 10 times better than this.  I wish to to return this device and have the 10$ mothly charge cancelled. I do not want to be griefed by the management there.  I do not appreciate them treating me like I don't know about technology.  I test mobility applications across my company on platforms including Android, the new Surface Pro 3 and all iPad devices.  This has been the worst tablet I have ever seen.  I am still within the 14 days, so I don't want to get griefed by the likes of Alex and Michael at the Southcenter store.  The only good sales people there are Tu, Jason and Otto.

Please do a factory reset http://vz.to/1gRiRcv and test.

I returned the tablet and keyboard at the Supermall Auburn Store.  Zac and Ben made the experience of returning it so painless and they waived the restocking fees because of the horrible experience we went through in the Southcenter Store.  Big kudos to Zac and Ben.  They really made me believe in Verizon again.  I hope Verizon will let them know how much I appreciated their help.

Beyond useless.  Mine broke after 22 days and I still can't get it replaced.  I'm ready to call the FCC or anyone else who will take my case.  I should have read the reviews before I bought it because the reviews are actually not kind at all about the Ellipsis 7.  I am trying to simply return it now.  I'm beyond replacing it.
