How do I connect my Network extender to GPS?

We purchased a Samsung SCS 2U01 extender in 2014, attached it to our CABLE internet and it worked very well. No difficulty in start up or 3G function.

We have relocated to a home 1/2 mile away, where the Verizon signal is actually better, (2 bars rather 0-1). We are trying to attach the Samsung to a ADSL phone internet connection. Repeatedly trying: different Ethernet ports, (4 available on the wireless router (NetGear Wireless N-300), attache the port cable first and then power, waiting for HOURS. AND, placed the Samsung in a window to assure GPS signal availability.

All that comes up is a solid "Blue" indicator on POWER, and WAN, solid "red" on GPS and blinking "red" on SYS.

Spoke with Tier 2 Tech Support; asked that we first check with the ADSL provider (AT&T) to make sure the Ethernet ports are "unblocked". This is a rental home, and we don't have the account password for AT&T.

Other thoughts, in the event that the ports are "unblocked"??

The unit won't work without getting a GPS signal lock. Stupid design, but that's the deal. The unit seems to be real picky about getting a good GPS signal. Could take 30 minutes or more to obtain a GPS signal lock. I've seen several GPS devices get a lock right next to the Network Extender while the Extender couldn't get a signal. I've also seen a Network Extender work for years suddenly stop getting a GPS signal for several days, then suddenly start working again.

Try moving the device to another location if possible. If the window has a metal screen try removing it to see if the unit can obtain a GPS signal.

As to the router port settings. See the following Verizon Wireless link for the ports to open or reconfigure on one's router.

A few other things to try per a conversation with Verizon Wireless support with respect to the Network Extender not working.

Replace the Ethernet cable.
Set the router MTU to 1500 if it is not already set to 1500.
Make sure the Network Extender is using an IP address in the 192.168.x.x range and not 10.0.0.x range.
Disable SPI on the router.
Set the MAC address of the Network Extender to the highest setting possible under QoS if your router supports QoS.

Other than making sure port forwarding and port blocks are correct, makes sure the GPS receiver is in the southwest-facing window.

According to page 5 of the User Manual, “If the GPS LED is solid red, the internal antenna may not be able to detect a GPS signal and installation of the external GPS antenna might be necessary.”

The GPS LED must be solid blue, before the SYS LED will stop blinking red. Acquiring a GPS signal may take some trial and error on your part.

Thanks, yes, unit is in a South/southwest window. Trying to get ahold of an AT&T person, who can, easier said/than done.
