It is out new firmware, but still no signal strength meter😫😔😭

What's changing:

The current software update:

  • Resolved an issue with Wi-Fi channel selection after disabling / enabling Wi-Fi settings
  • Added IP Passthrough support
  • Resolved an issue where a separate SSID ending in -BH was being broadcast
  • Added a feature to resolve some disconnect / reconnect events in specific network conditions
  • Resolved an issue resulting in 3 red blinking LEDs every few minutes
  • Resolved issue in the webGUI where AM / PM was mixed up for noon and midnight
  • Added Wi-Fi driver updates
  • Modem updates for improved throughputs in specific network conditions
  • Added / revised messaging in webGUI for WPA / WPA2 support
  • Extended the initial bootup / setup sequence and blinking white LED to 5 minutes
  • Resolved a firewall issue that would require a device reboot to recover internet connection

These updates sound great, but unfortunately every time I try to check for an update, it fails.

I have the same issue and Verizon support sent me a new NCQ1338.

 

It does the same thing. Will not update software to the 220745 version.

Official Verizon support rep comments here are frustrating as they clearly no nothing. 

The rep I had on the phone today was aware of the issue but said there was no fix.

Also clearly misinformed. Too bad someone at verizon doesn't get to the bottom of this and fix it.

Please escalate.

I have the same problem.  If I have it check again, it says my firmware is up to date.
