Why is my device getting so hot?

I just got 2 ellipsis 8 last week, having problems on both when playing games, reading etc.. They get VERY HOT around the camera area, to the point that can't hold them, is this a common problem? I have never had a tablet other than a kindle fire, so I'm not very familiar with these, do I need to take them back?

We want you to enjoy your tablets, Vivklynn46. What kind of problems are you having when you are playing games or reading? Are you getting a specific error? As for the tablets getting warm that is completely normal when the device is running a game or using an application that requires alot of processing information. With that being said it should never be so hot that you cannot handle the device.If your device shuts down due to overheating then yes, you have an issue and you need to contact us or the store.

Thank you, yes it does get hot but it has not shut off because of it, I

will give it a few days to see how it does. Thanks again for your quick

Hey Kevin,

My tablets are still getting hot when playing games and reading, it takes

just a short time before it starts maybe within 10 minutes, its not just

warm its hot in the last couple of days it has even started getting hot not

only on the back at the camera area but on the screen in the same area, I

also noticed while playing a game last night that during the game when

changing scenes the screen goes dark there is an area of white in the

corner where it is getting hot. I am taking it back to the store tomorrow,

I really like the tablet there is much more that I can do on it compared to

my kindle fire.

Thank you for the follow up, its nice to know that Verizon really cares

You're welcome. The Ellipsis 8 are great tablets. I agree with you so much more that you can do with them. We are glad you are taking the tablets back to the store to have them looked at. This was going to be our next suggestion. Please make sure you take the charges you use to the strore to have those looked at as well.
