How do I connect Ellipse 8 to iMac?

I'm using the USB cable that came with the tablet. I installed Android File Transfer on the imac and can connect my Samsung phone but the Ellipse just doesn't show up. All the system requirements are correct. I would like to transfer files back and forth directly instead of having to email everything.
Thanks for giving all those great steps a try, jack09. Android File Transfer is the place to go for transferring from the Ellipsis 8 to or from your iMac. In order for the computer to recognize the tablet, you may need to enable MTP on the Ellipsis using the steps at http://www.verizonwireless.com/support/knowledge-base-123060. Once that's enabled, are you able to see the device? Have you been able to try connecting your tablet to any other computer to confirm it can be recognized elsewhere?

I do have MTP enabled and still get 'No Android device found'. I don't have another computer to connect to.
