Pass.
I switched two phones today from the More Everything 15GB plan to the XXL 18GB plan.at my local Verizon store. I asked if I could get the 2GB free data for each line but no one there knew what I was talking about. They said check the Verizon internet site, but I see nothing their that answers my question, so trying here for information, i.e should I have gotten the 2GB's per line. Thanks.
The promo says : " If you and your family are signed up for Verizon’s XL (12GB) or XXL (18GB) data plans, you can receive a bonus of 2GB of data per month for life every time someone on your account upgrades or adds a new line by January 6. "
Simply changing to the XXL plan does not give you the 2GB - you need to upgrade the phone on the line or start a new line of service to get the 2GB. That's how I read it, anyway.
Sweet deal for people getting phones for the holidays
Yea For sure.. me and my mum was thinking of Going the way of these new plans at first when we heard that our Data plan might incur an additional $20 but in seeing that our plan is staying the way it is NO additional $20 is going to be added for us now unless things change we'll pay the full amount for our next phone.. more in likely after the first of the Year.! I wonder if "upgrade" means signing up for DPP or if full retail price purchase qualify?

I'm guessing (and it IS just a guess) that it is only for the DPP; as purchasing a phone at full price has not been considered an "upgrade" as far as Verizon is concerned for account purposes (maintaining the Unlimited Data, resetting contract dates, etc).
Yes. I just got 8gb extra a month for life for upgrading 4 lines. Not a bad deal at all.
Nap not a Bad Deal.. I think this offer ends soon or already has..
Passing. Still on unlimited data with my line, and family sharing a 4GB plan of their own. A shame the smaller plans don't get such similar love.
This article doesn't state what an "Upgrade" qualifies as. Would this be an upgrade as in two year contract or upgrade as in Device Payment plan? Shouldn't a "Bring your Own Device" upgrade also qualify?
IT is only open to those on the Verizon plan, which is Device Payment Plan only.
IT states upgrade or new line of service, so switching from another carrier and buying phones would count.
You are required to buy a new phone, so BYOD does not qualify.
And you can keep the data as long as you stay on a plan that is XL/12 GBS or higher. You lose it if you downgrade your data plan.
This is more BS from verizon. As a loyal customer for over 20 years, it always seems that new deals and offers are only available to New customers or NEW phone lines. If I upgrade to the new plan, why can't i get the bonus as well. I lost unlimited data when I needed to replace a phone, my plans get worse and worse every year. Only new customers reap the benefits.
It is time to start looking for another carrier. 4G speed has definitely started to suffer on Verizon. There are much better deals with tmobile and Sprint. Time to start saying bye bye verizon.

Only new customers reap the benefits.....Its been 5 years since unlimited data plans had to buy a phone at full price to keep the plan. You did not have to use the upgrade to get a phone - that was your choice. Other users have been buying phones at full cost to keep it, I don't even have unlimited and I buy at full cost. T-mobile has some extras, but is not cheaper.

This is just false. Current customers purchasing a new phone on current lines of service on DPP with a 12 GB or 18 GB allowance qualify.
