So, Verizon, I have suspended my whole family's accounts. I found that I get the same service from Straight Talk only considerably cheaper. Now AT&T has even a more affordable plan. Are you going to match it or keep loosing accounts?
Why suspend? Why not cancel and simply go with the provider which best suits your needs?

That plan from AT&T requires you to bring your own devices or purchase them at full price or sign up for the AT&T Next program which is similar to the Verizon Edge program.
Ann let them find out the hard way when they sign up they'll have to pay an extra $80-$120 a month for phones.

I have not used the Verizon phones or been under contract for quite a few years. I have Motorola Droid x2 phones that cost me less than $80 New. I have to use Verizon CDMA towers though to get service where I live otherwise I would have already switched to AT&T. Straight talk is still $60 per month cheaper than Verizon with 2.5GB/phone high speed and unlimited 1x after that.
Verizon is just too high, they will have to compete with AT&Ts plan at some point.

Yes you sign a 2 year contract... However you will pay more that $160 because you signed that two year. You'll find out soon enough. I wish you luck...

A) The $160 plan at at&t is only for those that either pay full price for the phones or sign up for their Next program which is paying full price over 20 or 26 months. Otherwise you're paying regular prices which are the same as Verizon.
Straight Talk "high speed" data is 3G not 4G. 1x speed is useless. What are you going to do with 100 kbps? You can't even stream music with that.
C) Verizon's new Edge plan are $5 more per line that at&t news value plan. Verizon non Edge plan is the same as at&t regular plans.
I really like Verizon service and coverage, but I have a 4 phone plan- two smart phones, two dumb phones. I am paying a tad over $200 per month. I will switch to the AT&T $160 plan when my contract period is over if Verizon does not come up with a matching plan. If I had the same plan that AT&T is offering with Verizon (with 4 smart phones) I would be paying well over $250 a month. I hope Verizon will match AT&T's plan in the near future.
keep in mind. It WILL NOT be $160 if you factor in your phones. You will only get the $160 price IF you BYOD or on the Next program. In truth you'll be paying more than $160. If you sign a 2 year agreement you will pay $40 per line so you'll be paying $160 just for your 4 lines, AND that doesn't include the base plan costs.
Ok folks, but Verizon's Edge plan saves you $480 per line over the 24 month period. At&t's plan saves you $600 over 24 months. So, basic, At&t is a better deal since most decent smart phones are between $500 and $600 dollars. The EDGE plans is actually a price increase while NEXT may actually save you money over 24 months especially with 4 lines in a family plan. But, Verizon is smart. Most Americans are bad at math and Verizon will ultimately make more money with EDGE. I CAN do math and am planning on porting out to At&t and saving some money with a nearly equal network..
It's actually LESS than that unless you buy the cheapo phones or phones that are "outdated" which MOST people always rarely do. Most people want the latest and greatest. You should see T-Mobile forums about why doesn't T-Mobile get the XYZ flagships that AT&T and Verizon multiple times per year.

You get the $20 discount for 10 GB and over and since everyone is basing at&t's pricing on 10 GB then it's fair to compare apples to apples. You don't get the $15 per line discount unless you get at least 10 GB with at&t. At least Verizon gives you some kind of discount with less than 10 GB.
Not true. At&t gives you $15 off under 10gb and $25 off over 10gb! That's my point. At&t's deal is much better.

I realize that $160/month does not include plans. I have checked and Verizon's plan charges $40/month, but that does not include data. AT&T's plan does include 10GB for four lines. I am not that concerned with the cost of phones. If I go with AT&T I will sign a two year contract and be able to get discounted phones anyway.
I hope that Verizon will just match the AT&T price and allow me to stay with Verizon.

Complain about pricing all you want. The main question is do you want phones that work or something pretty to look at?
Verizon DOES NOT provide service and could care less if the plan and phones you are paying $200.00 /mth for have service or not.
ATT not sure about but will soon find out. Free phone or Expensive phone kind of useless without service.
AT&T works just as well or better for most.
