AT&T New Pricing

Looks like AT&T has new family pricing that could save over $300 per month for my 9 line account on Verizon. I currently pay $40/month for each line plus a $100 for the 10GB plan. Each phone on the AT&T plan is $15/month. Anyone else looking at the potential to switch to AT&T?

I am, unfortunately. I love Verizon and have been with them for years and their reliable has been top notch (LTE speeds are another story lol) but Verizon is not offering suffice, discount plans like the other guys. I have 3 lines, two smart phones and a basic phone (which I never use) and with 6GB per month, plus insurance, I am paying over $200? Verizon does offer the $60 plan for each smart phone but that is only 2GB per month which I will exceed a couple of weeks into my cycle. I would still have to pay $30 on the other line, plus insurance and I am saving about $30...not worth extending the contract on each line.

I have stuck with Verizon because I felt an extra $50, $75 or even $100 a month wouldn't break me because they were the best, but seeing these other carriers vastly improving their networks (or at least they say they are) and offering essentially the same plans at a lower price, I now feel like I am just throwing money away every month. I stuck with Verizon because I believed you get what you paid for and I was paying for the best network, but they have appeared to lose that title in recent months to AT&T.

Personally, I would NEVER say it is "unfortunate" I am leaving a provider. I would ALWAYS say that it is "fortunate" I have found a provider which provides a better/equal service at a lower price for my needs. I don't feel any sense of loyalty to one provider over another. As soon as Verizon cannot provide the service I expect at a competitive cost, then I will no longer be a Verizon customer. I didn't feel it was unfortunate when I left AT&T. I didn't feel it was unfortunate when I left Sprint. I doubt I will feel it is unfortunate if/when I leave Verizon. I simply will go with the provider which is the best fit for my needs.:smileyhappy:

I would consider myself "fortunate" if I were to find a better service at the same or lower cost OR an equal service at a lower cost. Otherwise, I would not consider leaving.

You're right, there is plenty of fortune in finding another carrier that fits your needs and saves you a few bucks each month...I guess I chose to say unfortunately because Verizon's service has been pretty solid for me and not sure what to expect when it comes to coverage from another carrier (drive a lot between AZ, CA and NV), and not to mention ETF's lol. Guess I am just hesitant because with every carrier there is good and bad, and not sure which end of the stick I am going to get.

Don't forget all 9 lines would have to pay full price for their phones. So that could be over $6000 upfront or at least $250 a month extra added to you bill if you pay in installments.

They are not considering switching to T-Mobile, but AT&T. AT&T still offers discounted phones in exchange for signing a 2yr contract, I believe.

I know they were talking about at&t. Try reading the fine print. On these lower priced plans you must pay full price. If you are already have a 2 year contract you can still switch but when your contact is up you will not be able to get discounted upgrade and keep the discount. At&t is NOT going to wiling just give a $40 a month discount. They are just going to give up over $10 billion in profit each year? I'm sure the stockholders are loving that. Guess that explains why the stock has dropped.

I have four lines with 4 gigabytes and I am paying about $300 now. AT&T offer 4 lines 10 gigs for $160, is too much difference to not change.

A) 4 lines with 4 GB should be closer to $250 even with the taxes and fees included.

You're not taking not account you have to pay full price for the phones or be in At&t's. Next program to get that price. And it says on the website the cost of the phones are not included in the price. So you'd need to add $100 a month for that too.
