Can Verizon Wireless set up a reverse dns record for my static IP?

Just recently set up static IP for Verizon Wireless Broadband router. Using this as failover connection for my email server. I need to have a reverse dns record set up by Verizon for this static IP. When I called business support I was told this cannot be done. Can anyone verify this. Is there another Verizon department I should call?

This would most likely be a solution Verizon Business / Enterprise solutions offers but is so underutilized you'd need someone deep into engineering to do this. Since you have the Static IP, you've already done Step One. Can't say I've ever seen someone get this sort of request handled without ordering straight-up Enterprise (Microwave, P2P, Satellite) service. Usually it's easier to get done with a wire-line service.

How big of an IP block did you receive? Do the WHOIS records indicate your ownership of the addresses by proxy? Even if the Reverse Records get changed, one still has to make sure Verizon Wireless announces to the world that those IPs are in fact, static. Otherwise many mail servers will continue to reject the e-mails. The Wireless branch of Verizon has a good chunk of IPv6, and a decent amount of IPv4 addresses which are usually reserved for the CGNAT / Proxies / Cache hosts or for routers on accounts with designated dynamic IPs. Verizon might have pulled from a big pool that is allocated as say a /22 and routed like such in MPLS but then is presented as a /32 to you customer end.

Static IP address - It is one IP address for a one time free of $500 for use with one specific device that is non-transferable to another device. After further research, reverse lookup is out of scope of support and not part of the deal.

Thanks smith6612. Just one static IP address. It appears from the response below, that reverse dns lookup is not possible. Kind of strange, since outgoing email from my domain will likely be seen as spam at this point. Comcast's Static IP comes with the reverse dns lookup, which is my primary data source. Was hoping Verizon's failover data solution would have allowed the static IP to have reverse lookup. Seemed reasonable! Thanks for responding.
