Can the primary in a Family Share Plan leave?

I am the primary on a Family Share plan with 4 other lines on the plan. I was wondering if I could leave and join my mom's Family Share plan and have someone from the four people currently in my Family Share plan takeover the contract as the primary? Would it require a credit check? If they ever defaulted on a payment, would it affect my credit?

Yes, you will be able to leave. One of the other lines can take over as the primary account holder. You will need to switch liability to the account to this person.

How do I switch liability? Do the person taking over the contract and I have to sit down together at Verizon and sign papers? Or can it be done over the phone?

And the big question, would I be absolved of all future liability for that plan? Could them defaulting on a payment ever affect me?

You might be able to do it over the phone, you should call and check on that.

The big question, after they assume liability it won't affect you anymore. .

I have a question similar to this one. We (my husband and I) are in a family share plan with my brother and his family for a total of 5 members in the plan. We are interested in making our own family plan now as we need to add our daughter and they need to add their son.

1. Can we separate out into our own plan without affecting anyone's current contract.

2. Can we do this online or by phone or does it have to be in person?

3. Do we need any info from the primary accountholder in order to do this?

4. We have two sons who are on my sister's family plan. Can we include them on our plan? What info/process would we need to do that?

2. Can we do this online or by phone or does it have to be in person? Probably better to do it in person. (Personal opinion!)

3. Do we need any info from the primary accountholder in order to do this? If neither you nor your husband are the primary (you are secondary lines on another account) then whoever IS the primary would need to "release" the numbers/lines to you.
