Verizon, when will you fix the data roaming issue on the $45 prepaid plan?
Since January, there's been a back-end network problem where data roaming doesn't work in Canada or Mexico. Verizon managers has verified that this is a known Verizon network issue, since the if you upgrade to the $60 plan the issue resolves. To be clear, data roaming is included in all prepaid plans per Verizon's website.
Since January I've had to call every month to have the issue fixed, and every time I'm asked to wait a month, and still no resolution.
Anyone else having this issue?
And when will Verizon fix it?

one month later. after an extended phone call , some courtesy credits, and assurances that the issue would be fixed by the next cycle, the same issue persists.
2 reps have confirmed that this is a known internal issues which has not been fixed
my experience for others is don’t plan on roaming in Canada or Mexico with the $45 prepaid plan. It doesn’t work. Verizon has internally known about this issue for at least 6 months and it’s still not resolved. Better to use T-Mobile or AT&T.
I’ll be leaving soon too.

I'm having the same issue, but the agents I've talked to haven't admitted to anything. Did you ever hear back on when they'll resolve it?

Hey.
I’ve called multiple times and they haven’t been able to fix it. Nobody knows it’s an issue and they say it’ll be fixed my next month and it never is. It does work on the $60 even though it’s an advertised the $40 plan. So I’ve had to upgrade and they credit me the difference. Quite disappointing.

Was your issue ever fixed? I’m currently traveling in Canada and my Verizon prepaid plan isn’t working, I get no date. If this is an ongoing issue, I will have to cancel my plan

Staying connected while you travel to our neighbors to the north, or the south, is definitely important, Castafiore78. I know I would want to make sure my service was working as expected. Let's see what we can do to help. Please be on the lookout for a private note from us.

Hope this helps solve your problem. I had this same issue yesterday Jan 5, 2025. I even received a Rogers welcome text stating I get voice, text and unto 2 GBps of data/day. BUT nothing seemed to work until I just added TravelPass for both China and Canada. Since I am NOT in China, I was not charged, but the backend system then allowed my phone to get data, voice and text in Canada. Good luck 🙂
