Cell Coverage in Michigan Upper Peninsula

Does Verizon plan to expand cell coverage in the Shingleton, MI and Melstrand, MI area by placing Verizon equipment on existing towers 722443 and 725733. I have a summer place on Nevins Lake east of Melstrand and have no signal.  AT&T coverage is strong in this area. The highway to the runs between Munising and Grand Marais, MI is heavily traveled by tourists in the summer and snowmobilers in the winter and also benefit from this coverage.  If AT&T can cover this area, why has Verizon not made this a priority?  I've been a custom for 24 years and am genuinely interested in any coverage expansion plans in this area.  Yes, I know the simple solution would be to switch to AT&T, but I would rather not.

Much of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan has poor, or no, cell service.  Come on Verizon.  When will service improve?  A main upper peninsula highway (US 2) has no service between Manistique and Escanaba.  Ridiculous.

We always want you to get the best service possible, tigergil84. We are not currently showing any service alarms for the area. How long have you been having concerns? With the WiFi off, what signal (3G, 4G, LTE, etc.) and bars are you showing?

We had zero coverage just outside of Escanaba. When we visited relatives we would be off the grid for a week. AT&T recently installed a tower on CR426 out near Cornell. Now we get 5G coverage as long as we switch to AT&T which we are in the process of doing. Luckily I have an AT&T phone for work, so I was able to use it as a hotspot. Verizon lost a customer because of the terrible coverage in the UP of Michigan.

We're sorry to hear that you plan on leaving the Verizon family. It's our goal to make sure you're able to access the Verizon network no matter where you are and we'd like to take another look at the situation. We'll send you a Private Note shortly.
