DATA outage across the USA?

Why has VERIZON not made an announcement or sent an email to people so we know its not our phones and its the network? This would save them alot of problems and phone calls complaining about their phones not working.

They only listen when you are in person or giving them money.  I wonder what they would do if we all had a PAYMENT OUTAGE for a month?

They should give us all a break on our bill!!  It has been weeks with hit or miss 3G or 4G services!  Yet, we still don't have an answer!  I'm sick of paying for a service that doesn't work!

Does anyone from Verizon even attempt to read these discussions and try to answer our questions and concerns?  Are they denying that the problem even exists?  I'm about to start emailing media outlets if I something isn't done quickly.  I've been without reliable data for 3 days with intermittant 3G data in a 4G area.  No communication on the matter is making me upset.

I am for the past 3 days been out of data usage period as well. Honestly.. this is truly making verizon wireless look very bad on their end. I only yahoo catched on to this issue then other providers would havea better advantage over verizone wireless. But ya...i want to know when this crap is going to be fixed!

They have put out a very bad phone along with Motorola and the network was not ready to handle the increased load. There needed to be back up or reserve systems. Just goes to show how quickly you can disable a network.

The bionic is a flop despite it being high end. The rest of the market ran it over like a freight train within a week or so.

Verizon what is going on? Your maps show 4g where there isn't any. Your CSR's tell people it will be there soon and its an approximation. Well 1 mile is approximate, 10 miles and different cities is blatant misleading marketing.

Not a happy camper not even to be able to get 3g half the time.

I understand your discontent with the service and we are here to help resolve this. Are you still experiencing issues with the 3G service? Does this only incur indoors? What is your zip code? What kind of phone do you have? Is this issue intermittently. We need this information to further troubleshoot.

The 3G and 4G network have been intermittent for days in the Fort Wayne, Indiana (46808) area on the Samsung Charge and the HTC Thunderbolt. The problem exists indoors and outdoors.

My thunderbolt will not stay connected in Denver Colorado, 80249, dont matter what G it is, I hate my thunderbolt and dislike Verizon as well, but dont have much choice here.

I was told to do this and data is back, it can't hurt to try. MikeS_VZW I gave the following steps to budone after ensuring all the settings were good in the switch: 1. Open Dial Pad - Dial: ##778 Send 2. Select: EPST Edit mode, Password: 000000 3. Select: Modem Settings 4. Select and modify Rev. A to ENABLED 5. Touch "Menu" and select "Commit Modifications" 6. The device will reset in 10 seconds. Data Connection SHOULD return While this likely would have been solved by a master reset, it's nice to avoid the tedious process whenever you can. Just wondered how this is going.  

 

(came here looking for cell outtage information.  Looks like that has been requested.  Would be good to know (a) that VZW knows that our local cells are out and (b) if they have an estimate of when they'll be back online.)

I understand your concerns (and all the forum community) regarding network outages. Please keep in mind that this is a peer to peer forum and while our Social Media Team monitors the activity on these forums, we offer more efficient ways to get troubleshooting assistance for critical issues such as network outages. 

 

If you suspect a network outage in your area please contact us on Twitter @VZWSupport Monday to Friday 7am - 10pm CST and Saturday 7am - 4pm CST. Or call us at 1-800-922-0204 for immediate assistance from 6am to 11pm CST any day of the week including Sunday.

 

If you contact us via Tweeter or phone we'll be able to check our system for network issues in your area and you will be able to get an immediate response and troubleshooting steps to resolve the issue if applicable.

I've had continuous issues with 4G LTE in Dallas, TX all weekend long...my Bionic will show it's connected to it but can't surf, not getting emails, Google Voice connection problems...as soon as I go in to Wireless Settings and switch to CDMA my data is good and connection is fine. What's up VZW???

interesting issue I was not aware of until a friend called last nite. The Samsung Charge is also having this problem as are the newer 4g phones. So its an intermittent problem that is across the manufacturers lines. HTC has the least problems. I am just wondering why more of those owners do not post.

I have no 3G service on my Motorola Droid for the past day.  Area code is 99206. It doesn't work indoors or outside.

Have not been able to access the 3G network on my iPhone for over 24 hours.  Indoors and outdoors.  No internet or e-mail.  Area code 01754.   This is not an intermittent problem.

Wow another outage? In Ohio there are no reported problems, however, every time they expand the system it seems its down for awhile. VZW CS can tell you if there are trouble reports. Use the #800 if cell is not working.

Crazy. Feels like the world left without you when the cell doesn't function.

HTC Thunderbolt, Colorado Springs, CO.

After updating software to GB 2.3.4 I have been seeing less data drops, but it is still happening.  It happens inside, outside, in a vehicle, while stationary or in motion, at all times of the day.  I have been talking with cust. support for about 6 week now, and all they can give me are "work arounds" as "solutions".  This is ridiculous.  I am ready for a new device and/or service.  What are you going to do about this Verizon?

 

And now, with GB update system settings are randomly changing: Screen blackout resets to never, audio changes back  to default settings, apps are resetting to auto update (only the bloat ones, Verizon provided ones).

I lost 4G sunday night, and data was in and out until tuesday/wednesday. I'm in fort myers, FL which officially launched 4G last week. the airport has had 4G since december, and it doesn't work there either. was VZW's launch just a test? and they are still advertising it, yet it's non-existant.

Motorola Droid. Well, LenaA, it is in Delaware, 19904, and from my home and all surrounding areas and for the last month really bad!!!! Was at first somewhat intermittent loss of 3G since got phone almost 2 years ago. Then a little over a month ago began getting intermittent loss of 3G and also of bars of 30 min to 2 hours or more. As of the last couple of weeks, is now almost NEVER have ANY bars or any 3G. What is even stranger, is that it sometimes shows 3G and no bars!!!!!!!!!! This is from same location within my house that used to get full bars all the time!!!!! Nothing on or in my house has changed. Get it away from house as well, in and out of car, in and out of buildings, outside, inside, etc!!!! All this with full charge on phone and/or hooked to charger with full charge on phone!!!!
Have reported it several times and have me do the soft reset several times, check for any software updates to include OS updates but has all been up to date, have removed software to free up more memory, moved software to sd card, battery out--battery in, etc. Still can rarely use phone and can almost never use data at all!!!!!!!!! What gives???? They even made a trouble ticket for them to check the area and towers, etc, or something like that and she said I was supposed to hear back from them on what they found but have heard nothing!!  
I even checked my data usage on my account and it is sky high and yet I can't seem to get browser or any apps that rely on browser/data connection to work. They just keep trying to load over and over and over again but never get to do anything with them. That includes email!!!! And that is if I can even get page to load at all, much less trying to read or respond to emails!!!!!!!! So the data usage is bunk because I am NOT using data as I cannot get data!!!!!!!! I do leave it on hoping to have it eventually load and this sometimes works but then can't do anything with it for another 20-700 plus hours till next page maybe loads!!!!!!
