Johnbhill, we take account security very seriously and are glad to hear that you were able to identify the call as a phishing attempt. In order to better assist, I have a few questions. I understand that the phone number showing on the Caller ID was manipulated. How were you made aware that the call was from Technical Support specifically? Was any account or personal information provided?

I just got a call from my own number saying my account is frozen, so I just hung up and did not press the key they wanted. How does this happen?

I just had the same thing but the number was 800-922-0208. The call says that the verizon account has been frozen pending verification. I hung up after that.

I just received the same call from the same number only minutes ago. I hung up without talking/pressing 1, 2, etc and logged on to my account in order to be sure I truly was not locked out.

I have just received the same call - this is the third time this week - telling me that my cell account has been frozen for security purposes and asking me to press 1 to unfreeze it or press 2 to speak to a customer service rep.

I just received the same call but the number was 888-488-7200. They said my account was suspended. They wanted my Pin Number. Luckily I couldn't remember it. I logged into my account and changed all my security and added 2 step verification. They sound very athentic. Seems to be a common scam because according to the call I got last week my social security account is also suspended. Beware!

I have gotten 20+ calls from 410-609-9921 about my social security number being breached. It's a robocall. I can't get them to stop calling me. When I call back it says it's a verizon number.
Please make it stop! I am also a verizon customer.
Thanks,
Tom

We certainly understand your frustration, Eliot. We have all been victims of these calls at one point or another, however, we have great news for you! We now offer a great new feature called Call Filter, which provides spam alerting, spam filter, blocking tools, and the option to report numbers. The best thing about this feature is that it is absolutely free! We are including a link that will give you more information, and also the option to add it directly from your phone. http://spr.ly/66031DthR

No. There is no option to report these calls so these robocalls do not target others... UNLESS you PAY for premium.
It seems Verizon would want to get crowdsource help to prevent these con artists from harassing other verizon customers.
Unless Vzw can make money by having to robocallers continue to call, and thereby charging customers to block them.
I have googled and looked for the button to click on to report "IRS: police have warrant for your arrest due to fraud"
And VZW claims reporting is free, and reporting is not free.

We do apologize for any confusion, PFFlyers. When you block the spam calls, we get that information automatically and help us improve our service. Also, to report a number, you first need to mark it as spam. There are additional services that you can get with the premium version. Here is a link with all the details on both services: https://www.verizonwireless.com/support/how-to-use-call-filter/ We hope this clarifies your concern.

It didn't work for the last two calls I received. So let's ask the important question again since you are clearly avoiding the question.
How can we report these numbers to you?
Let me make it more specific...
What phone number or email address can we use to report these so that you will add them to your call id block service?
Concerned Verizon customers are trying to do the right thing and protect others and you are beating around the bush with asking questions and not answering the question.

We always want to help in any way that we can Stephen3256. We understand this is frustrating. If we are asking questions, it is just to make sure we are supplying correct information. Just to clarify, did you speak with a caller from this number? Did you provide them any information?

My wife just received a call claiming our Verizon account was suspended. The caller's number was +1 833-202-5057. She described it as a robocall, and she hung up.

I know how frustrating these calls can be, fittzwing. Let's work on putting an end to these calls. We recommend using our Call Filter app to block spam calls. You can get 60 days for free, and you can get more details on this link. http://spr.ly/6606GDbCj

We are concerned to hear that you are receiving spam calls. To confirm, is there a particular reason why you believe this number is spam? For how long has this been going on? DavidR_VZW
