I want to cancel my service and go to sprint. Anyone attempted this or done it?

I have been a Verizon customer for about 8 years (I've had multiple accounts) and I'm just very unhappy with my service recently. Our data has increased a lot over the past few months and it doesn't seem correct. We watch our data closely. My boyfriend and I had separate plans for about a year and half and we decided to join them to save money. We spoke to a few different reps about it and they assured us that we would be paying less if we combined plans. So we did.. And once we actually sat down to do it, everything we were told about saving money went out the window. We are paying more now and it's something that we can not afford. $200 for 2 lines just seems outrageous.

I have been trying to live chat with someone for about 2 hours today and have had no luck. I know that I will need to call and cancel our service, but I would like to get a little info from someone before I go ahead and make the call.

Has anyone else thought about switching and been successful or know someone that has?

I have always loved having Verizon and it saddens me that I want to cancel, but for what we need in a phone plan is just too costly with Verizon. We don't want to change our plan, we just want to feel like what we are paying is practical for the services we want. And unfortunately, Sprint has it for half the price.

I understand your frustration, I have been monitoring my data usage and it does not seem right. I am actively always on WIFI and for some reason I am showing close to 1 GB usage a few days in from my cycle. This seems a bit fishy to me, this makes me want to drop Verizon and go to another carrier. I really dont care if they supposedly have a better network if they are ripping me off... NO thank you! I will go elsewhere. I hope someone gets back to you soon and I hope Verizon is aware that customers are being ripped off.

I have been doing a lot of research on data charges in the past few days and I have read so many stories about people getting charged data without their knowledge.. I don't have the article, but it was well worth the read. People were getting charged data while they were sleeping or on devices that were shut off...

I think Verizon is aware of how unhappy customers are. I keep getting offers to change my plan and pay only "$10 more for 2 more gigs and no overage fees" but that's not what I want as a customer.

With Verizon, I use to feel like I really mattered to them as a customer, but now I feel the complete opposite. I have given them my business for so long and it just really sucks to feel like you are being used.

I'm curious if you had no device payments before but purchased new phones when you combined your accounts. 2 x $36 phone payments would jump a $128 monthly phone SERVICE bill up to $200. So are you including device payments in your monthly cost of $200?

I have 5 lines with 15 GB of shared data with a TOTAL monthly cost of $167. Of course I paid full retail up front for all devices and therefore have no monthly phone payments.
