I was deceived

Ive been a Verizon wireless customer since 2007. At that time it was still Alltel. I loved this carrier specially when they merged it with verizon. I just raised my eyebrows on people talking against verizons service. I didnt think i would be one of them now. My Alltel plan before was Friends and Family Smartpack 10. Unlimited data!! I have upgrade my phone twice already and my plan was still the same. Last June 6, 2013 I upgraded my Iphone 4s to a Samsung Galaxy Note 2. I loved the phone. Then 2 weeks after i got a text notification that my data allowance is almost 90%. I was surprised so i called verizon. They said my plan changed when i upgraded my phone! I looked at my account online and it still says Friends and Family Smartpack 10. They said only the unlimited data was changed to 2Gigs of data. I was furious! i upgraded my device over the phone and the manager NEVER informed me of the plan changes. I looked for the documents they sent me and it still says Friends andFamily samrtpack 10 with the same details as the plan i had before..... but there was 1 thing that was missing...it never said anything about the data plan. no mention of it in the letter. I have filed a complaint to the customer service twice. hoping they would switch me back to my old plan. I told them i am willing to pay the phone's full price!

I do understand verizon wants to get rid of all the unlimited plan but they should be up front on it. inform the customers of the changes! not deceive them.

I was deceived and feel like i have been cheated!!! What they did was illegal! I did not agree to changing my old plan! or i would not have upgraded my phone at all!

I hope hope that lady i talked to on the phone when i upgraded my phone sleeps well at night knowing she has tricked and deceived a person intentionally!

If Verizon cant fix my problem, im seriously switching to AT&T Smiley Sad

Verizon announced over a year ago that they would discontinue the unlimited data feature on all new contracts signed beginning 6/28/2012.  It was widely publicized.  Somewhere in your upgrade process you had to approve this.  After 14 days, Verizon will not give you your unlimited data back.

A) I am 100% sure that on your paperwork it will says your data plan is 2 GB.

B) This policy is over a year old. Should Verizon have to tell people for the next 10 years about this policy?

C) You're not getting unlimited data at AT&t either.

I also had to change my plan even though I did not want to, but I was told that it would cost me less. It costs me ALOT more per month now, I rarely get 4G and my Mifi has horrible download speeds, and constantly getting overages on it. When I went back to the store to find out why my bill was so high the guy at the store treated me like crap. I almost told them to just cancel my whole plan. I keep getting overages on my data, even when no one is using anything. Now it's going to cost me even more money to get out of the wifi part so that I can get decent internet at home.

Upfront? The change was on all the national news outlets, and in my paper here in podunk GA. It is spelled out in advertising, in the store, even in the paperwork you receive. It has been over a year since the change.

I would like to clear it out that verizon admitted that it was theyre fault that they did not inform me of the changes on my data plan. Yes they admitted it. Well the customer representative did and their supervisors. They were sorry that the manager i talked to didnt tell me about the data plan changes. That is why they opened a case about this incident. When you upgrade your phone, it is the responsibility of the carrier to clearly bring it out to you that CHANGES will be made to your plan regardless of the nationwide advertising. And that was not brought up on our conversation. I am only saying if there were changes it would have shown on the Notification letter i got from verizon about my upgrade. And it only showed my OLD PLAN which they dont have it now. Everything was on that plan  except the 2G data allowance.
