Yes, my phone is prepaid.
It does not matter if you are post pat or prepay. You will still be able to make calls.
If you are post pay and you reach your limit you will be charged an overage fee for and data that you use past your limit. Usually $15 per 1GB. You will get charged the overage amount no matter how much of that 1GB you use.
If you are prepay then you will not get any data until you pay your next month's fee and re-up unless you have Bridge Data to use.
I should add that is you are prepay and have used your monthly allowance and no longer get mobile data, you will be able to get data while connected to a wifi.
