I will be purchasing the International Monthly Travel Plan for an upcoming European vacation. My cell phone has hot spot capabilities and I was wondering if there would be additional charges for using the hotspot while in Europe. For example, if I turn on my hot spot and my wife uses her phone to connect to it, will we be billed anything additional the $100/month for the International Travel Plan. Thank you.

Great question. The international monthly plan does include an allotment of data that includes any usage when your device is used as a hotspot. There will be no charges for using the hotspot feature. Keep in mind that after 20GB, your data speeds will be reduced. ~Peter

Hi vzw_cs,
Following up on the above question:
- What is the data speed during the 20GB allocation period and what is the speed once one exceeds it?
- Are there devices other than phone such as a portable mobile wifi box where a sim card can be inserted that would work with the international monthly travel plan?
Thank you

Those are great follow-up questions, effb404. The 20GB allocation would be considered premium data, and the speeds would depend on the roaming network where you're connected. Once you've exceeded the high-speed data allotment, your speeds would be reduced to up to 300 kbps.
You can use our trip planner to determine which devices are able to be used while roaming. Learn more here: https://www.verizon.com/plans/international/international-travel/trip-planner-tool/

Is this answer still valid or have the rules for Hotspot and International Monthly Travel plans changed since your 2023 reply. Heading to Ireland and the UK in June 2025 and want to hotspot my S24. I have hotspot on my US Domestic plan if that's relevant.

This information is still correct, Cmoore33. There is no charge for using hotspot on your Galaxy S24. The speeds and data allotment will depend on the terms of your international travel plan.

We will be traveling to Europe for 3 months in June 2025. We were going to purchase the monthly international plan, but when we called support and inquired about mobile hotspot we were told it is not available/included with the plan. We need to have this feature. I then came across this discussion which says it is included. I searched everywhere on the Verizon site to verify this. Can you direct me to where this is stated. I would hate to get overseas and find out we don't have it. Thank you.
