Is using 4G LTE as your primary isp really a viable option?

Fios is not available in my area. Options are broadband or satellite. I have satellite and it's not reliable and is extremely slow so I'm considering switching to 4G LTE as my primary internet service provider at home. Thoughts?

I would recommend that you use the Data Calculator Tool to determine how much data you actually use each month.  That will let you know if this will be an affordable option for you!

Here is the link for the online data calculator:

Are you referring to Wireless Broadband Internet access?

I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

Yes. The broadband option currently available is through a local cable company with terrible reviews. I should add that I'm an average user. One person household but I work from home so reliability is the biggest problem. When I vpn into my work network I lose half of my speed. For watching a video, I'm constantly using my phone without wifi because using data is much faster.

The local cable company is a landline based Internet service and much more reliable and have much higher data caps if any at all. Dollar for dollar you will get a better value. If you use them now, you need to find out how much data you use a month (peak usage and average usage). Once you have those data amounts, look at the available plans from Verizon Wireless to what you would be paying for a wireless Internet connection. You will find the landline internet service is much less expensive.

It is viable, but potentially very expensive.

My thoughts are that it would me a LOT more expensive than your other broadband options.
