You might want to call customer service, 'cause I know for sure you have to "pre-pay" your account in order to receive collect calls. At least that how the system works if you call from jail.

Sadie is actually correct. Specifically with Verizon Wireless you cannot make or receive Collect calls from your cell phone. This has been the case for a number of years now.

Near the bottom of the page it does state that verizon doesnt support this

Ok, yes you CAN get collect calls, but, its not through verizon, it's a third party company that you have to call and they set up your number to receive collect calls, I know it because I've seen it happen, a friend of mine been to jail and he called his cousin to his cell phone. People, its not something I made up, I REALLY SEEN IT HAPPEN, maybe not through verizon, but it is possible! You have to prepay your account, not with verizon!

This company must be accepting the charges and forwarding the calls to your VZW phone. Even if that's possible, VZW Customer Service won't know about this or provide support for a third party company.
