The neighbor gave me the password to the extender and I turned down the power but our phones are still connected to it. I verified to make sure its there extender and it is. User guide says you can make it a closed network but you can't and verizon engineers is no help over the phone. We can't do anything because when we make a phone call , we are right at the line where it continuously connects and disconnects to it. This is like tech trespassing! Haha its crazy how you can't make it a closed network. Why spend over $100 a month when we can't even use our phones. I've filed a complaint when FCC and a email is heading towards headquarters. Maybe they will have better luck getting this fixed than I have had.

How far did you turn down the power? Did you do a reboot on the extender after turning down the power?

What if you turn it down to the minimum for a test, 10%? And a reset/reboot?

Hello, I am still connecting to mt neighbors network extender. Does Verizon have a phone that i can set up in options to not connect to it? This device sure does act like a legal jamming device to cause me to use there network instead on mine. They have it tied to satellite internet witch is really slow and I dont have the option to disconnect from it!

All phones will connect to the strongest cellular signal. The only things to try are to see if your neighbor can reduce the signal strength enough as to not reach your house. That can be done via a browser changing the Extenders setting. They could also try turning on CLOSED access mode via their My Verizon website and only putting their phone in the access list. They may have issues as CLOSED mode has been flaky with other users. Also, the Extenders cannot use satellite internet so they must have some other 'slower' internet service. Did you ask them to contact Verizon Support to see what could be done? Do you have WiFi access and have you tried turning on WiFi calling?

Ide like to hear from Verizon on this one. Yes they turned it down to 30 percent. It's supposed to only have a 50ft radius witch is false because I'm 180ft away. They do have it tied to there Hughes net witch is sat. Internet. My wifi internet is slow as well so wifi calling does not work well. We use data and jetpack and it connects to that extender. The closed button doesn't work. I shouldn't have to rely on my neighbor to make it a closed network so I can use my phone. I get 30mbps before hooking up to there extender.

Taylorj, we are concerned to hear you are having trouble with your service and want to ensure you get the help you need. To clarify, you are using your neighbors network extender to assist with calling or you have your own that you are having issues with? What ZIP Code are you encountering issues?

We are connecting to our neighbors extender that she has tied to satellite internet witch the instructions say should not be done. She will not try putting it into closed mode so that's not an option. We are all connecting to it and it slows down our data dramatically. We have confirmed it already with verizon that we are connected to it. How can we make our phone not connect to it? I've given verizon full reign of my phone and they couldn't disconnect from it. There's no options.

If you have a good relationship with your neighbor, you might ask them to try reducing the transmit power of the extender's signal. At least, they could reduce it in steps to see at which what level your devices don't connect, but theirs do where they need it. This can be done in the extender's SETTINGS.

Browser accessing the website on my desktop to change the mode doesn't work for me. Last week, I got my extender into CLOSED mode (found one corner of the CONFIRM button that worked), but now cannot get it out of CLOSED mode. That corner of the CONFIRM button isn't working now. My phone (only one I can add to the access list) connects to the extender fine as reported by #48.

You think they did it on purpose? If not you think they will ever fix it? We are about ready to go to court over the issue. There is no way for our phones to disconnect from our neighbors extender. Verizon gave them the extender knowing they have satellite internet that doesn't support it and now all the neighbors are stuck.
