VzW is changing its wireless plans again, effective August 13, 2015.  Note that "All new customers, and existing customers who want to move to the new plan, will buy or upgrade to new smartphones using Verizon’s device payment option, formerly known as Verizon Edge, or by paying the retail price.”

My only disappointment is the flat $20 rate connection charge.  This adds up with multiple lines.

All carriers charge a connection charge for each line.    If you are on a plan with a lower price per line, keep it as long as you can.  My lines have a $15 per line fee, and I will keep it as long as possible.

We are at $15 per line as well. Any change to the plan will bump us to $20

per line.

SO don't change your plan.   I pay the bill for my extended family, they are all required to buy their own phones if they want an upgrade.  I will keep the $15 line fees and my promotional data plan as long as possible by NOT making any changes.

Unfortunately, If I want to add a 3rd line, I have to convert my 2 current

lines to the $80 for 12gb with the $20 access charge per line.

I get 2 more GB for $10 I guess...

Where did you get this information? That is different than my understanding, which is you do not need to switch to the new plan even if you add a line to your current plan.

This is what the agent told me on the phone a couple days ago, that i would

have to migrate the 2 current Edge Phones to the new plan when I added a

3rd link at $20 access fee.

Ok, that makes sense, if you wanted the $20 access fee. But it is my understanding you do not need to move to the new plans if adding a line, and you want to keep the other lines on the current plan as some have a $15 access fee already on More Everything.

Wow! After all the publicity I checked on the new plan. With my two paid off smart phones my options for bare service are either $100 on the old plan(Minimum data) or $90 on the new plan (S). I have been paying $95. It may be time to start looking at other providers.

Either your math is off, or your idea of a minimum plan is bigger than most.

for service only the new plan is $20 for each line and minimum data is $30, that is $70 before taxes.

if you are still on more everything plan your cost would be $25 each line and $20 minimum data plan (which is half of the new offer). Total is still $70 before taxes.

How are you getting your figures?

Unless you're pricing the  6 GB plan, which isn't the small plan?  ($60)

Hi, Thanks for the reply. I'm getting my figures by logging on to my

account and looking at the two options that Verizon is offering. My current

plan is the more everything plan. If I stay with it the minimum shareable

date is 500MB at $20.00. The line access fee remains at $40/line or a total

of $100 for two lines. The new plan options are $30 for the small data plan

1GB and $30/line access charge for a total of $90.00. This is straight from

the Verizon site. I believe the line access charges vary by the data pack

purchased.

If you are out of contract, you should still be able to add a month to month discount of $15 on each line that is not in a contract and not on a payment plan.

Therefore you should be at $20 for the 500 MB, and $25 for each line - $50. Total is $70 plus fees and taxes.

Once ypur 2 year contract is paid off and you line is upgrade eligible you are also eligible for the out of contract discount, but you have to call and ask for it.  It would knock $30 off your current bill.

if you switch, your line fees would be $20 each 6 GB of data is $60.  But if you don't use that much, you can get the 1 GB for $30.  Total stays at $70 before tax.

Thank you. One phone is eligible and the other one within 2 weeks. I'll

check then!

Your welcome.  You can request the lower line fee on the one line that is out of contract now (call *611) and call and request the lower line fee in two weeks.

OR.....if you want more data, you can switch in two weeks,

OR

You can move over now.  The one line will get the $20 line fee now and the other would be automatically switched in 2 weeks, when the contract ends.

EIther way, it's a break even for you.

Where are getting that access charges are $30 per line?

On these new plans you get 1 GB for $30 and $20 per line access charge so for 2 lines that's $40. So that would be a total of $70.

I recently got a phone replaced my new phone is a windows phone and I recently downloaded the 2015 nfl mobile app and I am on the more everything plan but when I attempt to access live video on the nfl mobile app it says my plan does not cover it but it does.  I have re installed the app a few times and I don't know what the problem is.  What do I need to do?

Thank you.
