No LTE in Austin texas

Austin Texas seems to be the last major Metro area in the state without LTE. There seems to be no clear reason for this as  Verizon Just did the Airport then stopped. Thinking maybe Verizon lacks the fiber backhaul in the area so will never have LTE.

Any Ideas?

Verizon will have their entire 3G network overlaid with LTE by 2013, so rest assured that there are no current 3G areas that will never get 4G. I have not been to Austin in a year or so, so I am unable to comment on the situation there, but there could be a variety of reasons for the LTE network not having been launched yet; Fiber availability could be one of them. My guess is that Austin will be lit up soon enough.

I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.
