Pantech UML290 with 4G Router yes you can use 3G only:smileywink:

 

Found out the following info.   Folks that are not in a 4G area but only in a 3G area and have the Pantech UML290  modem and want to use it in a router with 3G only, their is a fix for 3G only, 

 

You would be able to use your Pantech UM290 modem in your CradlePoint or Nexaira Routers.

This is definitely not a "seemless" solution as they say. You have to reconfigure every time you go from 3G to 4G and back. I won't buy a 4G modem until they can get it to automatically switch back and forth seemlessly as I drive down the highway using my CradlePoint router.
