Samsung SCH–LC11 VPN Problems

Hibiscus
Newbie

We have installed the new firmware update, EF07, and are still having problems with VPN.  My  wife works for Verizon Business and is unable to keep a connection for longer than 20 minutes.  After getting dropped and loging back in she will get dropped about 5 minutes later.  This seems to keep happening until the next day when she can stay on for 20 minutes then start the cycle over.  We have 4G service.  We have used, and still have, a MiFi2200 with which we never had this problem.  Any help with this issue would be greatly appreciated.

Hello,

I am no expert with the Samsung device but I do know quite a bit about the Novatel MiFi.  Swap out MiFi with Samsung in these steps and see if any of them help.

Common solutions:

1. Lower your MiFi to B/G down from B/G/N

2. Lower your MiFi to 3G only connections

3. Reset your MiFi to the defaults

4. Reseat your SIM card

5. Attach a external Antenna

6. Purchase a car booster kit from Wilson Electronics

7. Power down your MiFi when not in use

8. Store your MiFi in an area where it is not exposed to extreme heat or cold

9. Try different locations and look for consistencies or gaps in service

10. Replace the MiFi under warranty

That being said the Samsung is noted as having many issues holding VPN connections.  The new firmware updates have helped but I'm not sure if Verizon ever commented on officially resolving the VPN issues or not yet.  Run through these steps and gather some more information for us and I bet a Samsung expert will be able to tell you more.
