I recently traded in my phone for the (very low) trade-in amount of $45. November 1 I get an email from Verizon saying that they have received the traded phone and confirming the trade-in value. I have not seen the $45 credit yet in my account. I've wasted hours on the live chat with Verizon reps who promise to help me locate the credit, but seem unable to do so. It feels as Verizon just hopes the consumer will give up and go away. I generally like Verizon's service, but this experience has really soured me on the company.
