Upgrade and Phone Switch Answers Please???

I was wondering if anyone could help me with a small problem I am having. My mom recently got an upgrade on her blackberry, and got the new iPhone, and I am curious if the upgrades are linked with the actual handheld device, or with the individual cell numbers. I want to switch my number from my enV Touch to her old Blackberry, but not if it will cause me to be ineligible for my upgrade in November. Nothing that Verizon has on their website or on the help line has been able to help me. Anyone have an answer? Thanks!

Since your mom used her upgrade to get herself a new phone, that extended her two year contract.

If you want to active the smartphone, just dial *228 from the phone, press one to activate (you may need to actually call in to activate the phone under your line) but this will do nothing to your upgrade or contract end date. Contracts are linked to the lines not the phones.

You will remain on the same upgrade and contract end date as you have now so you can upgrade to a new phone when you become eligible.
