My wife and oldest son have Verizon on a 700min + text shared plan. (1 smart, 1 basic). I'm looking to upgrade both to new smartphones and add another line for my youngest son.(possibly basic, but would go smart if fees are reasonable). Went to the Verizon store and waited 45 minutes then had to leave. Went again the next day and waited 30 minutes and had to leave. Finally got pricing at Best Buy(FYI theywere $100 less for an HTC ONE than Verizon) with the same 2yr extension.
Not upset with Verizon, but not thrilled either, but am upset that I may sign up for $2040/year in charges (2 smart, 1 basic w/2Gb data) with Verizon and they charge $95 just for the pleasure of doing business with them.
I am considering putting my sons on Revol to save the upgrade fees and give them unlimited data so I don't have to play the "did I go over my allowance" games that I do now. Does anyone have experience with them? I believe they have more limited coverage, but use some of Verizon's network(not an issue in my area though) May keep my wife on Verizon because she gets reception in the local grocery store with her current phone, but still deciding.
For 3 phones and 2Gb data it will cost $2040 per year +over$400 in phone fees(over $4000 for 2 yr contract) yet they still charge activation and upgrade fees. have heard about promos where they waive it but have not seen them recently. If they would waive them I would stay. Any ideas???????

Buy the phone at full retail, or pay the upgrade fee...

I know they have had promos that waive the activation fee but have not seen them in my area. "Buy at retail or pay" is passive, but does seem like the Verizon reality! I wish I could treat my customers the same and keep their business...

Not sure they use the VZW network. NW GA is totally blank as is the UP of MI and both areas are covered by VZW. But if you dont travel and the boys dont mind only a 3G data connection, I say give them a chance

I guess once you get 1 out of every 3 people using your product in your industry you too can use the same billing practices that all the other companies in the industry use...
