Verizon App Manager

20 minutes ago, I got a notification from Verizon App Manager that an app, Coinbase had successfully been installed. This was done through the Verizon App Manager and not through the Google Play Store and it was done without my permission. I've since disabled the Verizon App Manager and uninstalled Coinbase. Please advise as to why a Verizon application is downloading and installing apps without my permission.

I just had this happen recently. The Verzion App Manager has installed two apps on my phone without my permission. This app is now disabled. Shame on you Verizon.

It already installed two apps on my phone and was trying to install a third one when I caught it. No app should be installing other random apps on your phone without your permission. Verizon you need to fix this issue.

I'm pretty computer savvy and I can't even figure out what the Verizon app managers actual job is on my phone. Especially with the fact that my phone is an Android phone and designed to maintenance apps on its own.

And no I do not want to one-on-one conversation with you in order to fix this issue. I want you to post it so everybody can see it in this form.

Hello, speedpilotf16. You can stop apps from being installed again by going to Settings > Apps > Verizon App Manager > Disable. Try this method, and let us know if this helped fix the issue.

I'm unable to follow the steps. Once I tap on Settings > Apps, there is no "verizon apps manager" option. Can you double-check the steps for me? I'm on a Google Pixel 5a

So I disabled the app twice now and have now denied all it's permissions I have been a Verizon customer for over a decade but of this keeps up I will be forced to find another carrier. This is ridiculous I have worked in IT for over 20 years, how many people without the knowledge are going to end up with programs and problems because of this. I mean why does a program have the ability to remove a disable for itself!
