Verizon representative at my neighborhood store told me I'd would receive a $200 Visa Gift card for trading in my wife's iPhone 4 as an incentive to become a new customer. I had the phone in the store, and he saw it was in great condition. He helped me fill out everything, and said the only thing needed was to wait for the box so I could send it in.
We sent in the phone, and the reply via email a week or so later said "You will not receive your Verizon Wireless gift card because the device value is $0."
So am I to just accept that we'll receive nothing, instead of the promised $200 to switch (which I WOULD NOT have done that day had he not made me the offer.)
All this was done IN THE STORE and handled by a Verizon employee, and I refuse to accept any fault for not reading the fine print. All calls and chats to rectify the problem leads to dead ends. The rep at the store promised to call back TWICE, only to leave the store before the call back is made. Nobody is willing to help, and I feel we were coerced into this agreement without Verizon adhering to their promise.
I guess my question is two-fold;
1. Where else can I turn to get the promised cash incentive to become a Verizon customer?
2. Is it possible to get out of my agreement since they haven't held true to their promise?
