Why can't two new iPhones call each other?

I have 3 new lines with Verizon Wireless. One (iPhone 14) works fine. The other two (iPhone 14 Pro) also work fine - except neither can call the other. I checked and we have not blocked each other in our contacts. When one of these two phones calls the other, it does not register and rings before going to voice mail. Is there a toggle or setting that is messing this up for us or is there a problem in Verizon's backend (pun intended).

Thank you for reaching out to us. We apologize for the issues you're encountering with your iPhones. Let's start off with something simple. Can you please dial *73 from both of your phones? Once you do that, please turn both phones off and then back on. After this is completed, please try to call each other again.

That did not work, though it reset our voice mails which was not helpful. Any other ideas?

We're sorry to read that you're having issues with calls on your devices. What kind of signal do these devices show? Do you get any sort of audio message before the call fails? ~Peter
