slow service on iphone 13 pro until I hard restart phone

All:
I have an unlocked iphone 13 pro.
Wireless service so far has been awful. It is so slow, I can't do Apple Pay, listen to music, etc. Certainly forget checking e-mail or getting directions.
If I hard reset the phone, the service improves for about an hour or less.
I have reset all the network settings per recommendations from Verizon tech support, but to no avail.
I switched over from T-Mobile because I thought the Verizon coverage would be better. I was wrong, and certainly the T-mobile service was a LOT faster.
What else can I do?
