We have the unlimited data plan and I know there are no charges long as he is on wifi, but he will be traveling with a baseball team. What is he best plan for him to text and Snapchat when away from wifi?

If on the new Verizon Unlimited plan, domestic allowances would apply for Canada. Keep in mind however, that "if more than ½ GB of data is used per day/session, the data speed will be reduced temporarily to 2G".
