How to transfer my phone number from Iphone4 to Samsung Galaxy S4?

So at this moment I have an Iphone4, and I was recently gifted a S4 by someone else. If I buy a new SIM card and SD card will I be able to keep my number? Does anyone have a guide to doing this by yourself? Sorry for a seemingly simple question but this stuff is foreign to me.
