This only happens with incoming calls, about 20 seconds in I hear a beep and call is disconnected/lost. This has been happening since I had the phone, about 9 months. Prepaid, Verizon Blitz, numbers from my last verizon prepaid phone. Any ideas?

This has happened to me on my landline so it might be the same for a cell. On the landline when a Tele marketer calls they call a bunch of numbers at the same time and the first one to answer get the call and the rest are disconnected. I hope that makes sense. Its very annoying so now I don't answer the phone on the first ring I wait for 2 or 3 rings. Even when you have your number listed as blocked you still get calls. I don't know if this happens on a cell phone it might be also that someone realized they misdialed. Just a few thoughts.

I agree with the other poster but if it's every call then maybe the service or phone. What did verizon say about it or did they do anything to troubld shoot it for you? Mary

Is it every incoming call?
If so, I suspect when you received your new phone all the info was not transferred over correctly. I have heard of ports that did not complete fully and this situation would occur.
Maybe try calling *228 option1 (If prepaid has this option)
If not, then a call to CS is in order.
