Is there a specification for the maximum number of simultaneous WiFi connections that the CR1000 router can handle?
My home system has worked fine for years, but as IOT systems will, mine grows. A few months ago as my system approached 90-100 devices, some 2.4GHz devices just would not connect to the LAN. I would reboot the router then everything would be fine for a while, then a few of the 2.4GHz WiFi devices dropped offline and would not reconnect. Rinse and repeat.
Finally, Verizon agreed to send me a new router. Everything connected fine for about a month then the connection problem returned. Third router- connections only worked for a week.
I reboot and they will connect, but some others won't. There is no pattern. Sometimes they all connect.
Today, my home network includes 110 devices, 76 of them are 2.4 GHz WiFi. Two (our phones) are on 5GHz, and the rest are Ethernet. The 5GHz WiFi and Ethernet are not experiencing any issues. Just the 2.4GHz WiFi.
I am at the point that I am ready to install a managed router and a MOCA adapter for the TV set-top boxes.
Does anyone know if I have exceeded some unwritten limitation of simultaneous WiFi connections?
Does anyone have a recommendation for a managed router? I am currently leaning toward the Ubiquiti Edge Router.
Does anyone have any troubleshooting recommendations that I can try?
