Hi. I saw the Pantech Caper and I like the phone. From researching online it seems to be pretty new. I found some stuff for a Verizon prepaid version of the phone. Can you get the phone on a plan? Will it require a data plan? Any idea of the price? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks very much.

I've never heard of the phone, but in the past all of Verizon's prepaid phones have been able to activate on a monthly (postpaid) plan after using them on prepaid for 6 months. The best way to confirm if the phone will work for what you want is to call Verizon CS and ask. Since it's not available for purchase on this site, its not clear if you can get a postpaid version that doesn't need to be used on prepaid first.

Alright, thanks to both of you. It also seems to be a pretty new phone so that was kind of throwing me off too, but I'd like to potentially get this phone on a postpaid plan because it seems like a nice phone - I don't want a data plan and Verizon's phone options for non-data plan phones seems QUITE bad, so it'd be nice if you could get this phone. Thanks again!

I think I tried calling some sort of Verizon wireless support and it was just a hassle so I bailed on it. So I don't have answers for your questions, I'm sorry. But someone else commented on this other post of mine (because I wasn't really sure where I should post this question), so maybe this is of help....

You can not use a daily prepaid on a Smart Phone only on Features phones. If the Pantech Caper is a 3 G then its a Smart Phone.

I have two Pantech Capers I just purchased to replace my current sliders...They work GREAT! As long as they were activated for at least 6 months (on a prepaid plan), they will work on your regular plan. Also, they are not smartphones thus they do not require a data plan. As mentioned, don't buy a brand new one and expect it to work on a regular Verizon plan. Used for a minimum 6 months and then you can transfer to your normal plan. What a phone!!!! Similar to a Blackberry (style only) so it makes texting alot easier! And, no data plan. Highly recommend this phone!
