What happens to the remaining balance when a prepay phone is ported to an existing post pay plan
I've talked to a few CS, in store and online chat, and they all contradict each other. So can someone from VZW please reply

If I had to make a guess, you loose the time because the prepay accounts system and the regular accounts are handled totally different.

As long as your keeping the same cell number the balance that is left on the prepaid cell will be used as a credit on the contract phone. When you transfer to the contract do not cancel the prepaid card until you call customer service so they can transfer the money amount to the new contract, it will show up on your new bill as a credit.

I have a current post pay account and a prepay phone. I want the prepay phone to use my current post pay account. Can I still transfer over the remaining balance?

Just a few questions so I understand what your are doing. Are you starting a New Contract and planning on using your prepaid phone with that contract and using the same phone number as the prepaid cell? If thats the case yes the prepaid balance will be used as a credit on the contract. If your still under contract and your planning on just switching your prepaid phone and number over to the existing contract account then you would lose the balance on the prepaid cell since your contract is still active.

I won't start a new post pay contract
My current post pay contract will expire soon but I don't like any of VZW's current feature phones. I'd like to activate the prepay phone on my current post pay plan after my contract ends and keep using my current post pay number

As long as it is a Feature Phone yes you can change it to a prepaid you can not use a Smart Phone on a Prepaid you can call prepaid customer service at 1-888-294-6804 and they will set it up and transfer your old number to the prepaid. There are two different types of prepaid, they have a Monthly $50.00 unlimited talk, text and you pay on a monthly bases and the Daily plan is paid on a 30, or 90 or yearly bases. Also it must be a Verizon compatable phone.

Sorry about the confusion yes once your contract ends you can use the prepay phone to a post pay and keep your same number.
