Prepaid Smartphone

I have a friend who has agreed to sell me their smartphone, but I can't afford a service contract, so I would like to know if I would be able to use the phone on one of Verizon prepaid plans. The phone is an LG Spectrum 4g lte. Can someone please give me some info to know if it is possible to use this phone on a prepaid plan. Thanks

Since the Spectrum is a 4G LTE smartphone, it CANNOT be used on the prepaid smartphone plans offered by Verizon Wireless.

You can activate it on the postpaid plans (Share Everything Plans) without a "contract" since you would be bringing you own device (BYOD).
